 I make automata and animatronics. Working principally in wood I produce pieces which respond to the turn of a handle or, in the case of my animatronics, to the proximity of the viewer, playing out a small story. Through the carvings and movements I try to convey emotions in my human subjects which people can relate to. One of my most popular pieces, "Quiet Contemplation of a Sandwich", for instance comprises a boy sitting in front of railings, swinging his legs, looking around and occasionally taking a bite out of a sandwich. Viewers can imagine their own back story and emotions for the piece. 

I have an extensive website and YouTube site with an international following. My pieces are exhibited in galleries in the UK and abroad.
